Starting out in Home Cinema
Home Cinema is confusing. We can help. We don't need to fill your head with specification, acronyms and gibberish to provide you with a system that will make watching films and television as much fun as going to the cinema. Home Cinema is all about fun.
We supply plasma TV's, projection systems and all the audio equipment to compliment. We are choosy about what we sell and don't offer second rate products.
Not everyone wants speakers all over the lounge. Not everyone can and for this reason we are often asked to hide as much equipment as possible. This is an area of specialty to us. Contact us and we'll discuss your requirements in detail and suggest a system that you will enjoy and that won't make your lounge look like Comet.
Not many people take us up on our offer to get in touch to discuss home cinema. OK we don't sell the massive range of products that some shops do but we do sell the best products and that list is always smaller. We don't drug your coffee and make you sell the kids to afford it. Many of our products are elegant and simple We've found that if we are friendly, helpful and honest; people come back. So ring us and allow us to clear the confusion away.

Hi-Definition TV
Currently freaking everyone out and causing all manner of confusion and it has only just arrived. Modern TV's are now able to reproduce more lines and a better quality picture than is currently being broadcast. Even SKY suffers on a 7 foot screen. Hi-Def solves these problems by providing more lines, more detail and higher resolution.
Hi-Def is currently available from SKY and one or two cable operators. Don't worry, more channels and more choice will be added as the service gets wheeled out. When you see the benefits you will certainly want it and in fact it does make going back to normal broadcasts a pain.
Hi-Definition DVD players will arrive shortly but the bad news is there are two formats; HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Due to expensive licensing it seems likely that only one will succeed. Unfortunately the industry does not know which one. So our advice to you is that you should wait!
Don't panic and if you need or desire to change your TV, just ensure it is HD ready. Or to save all the hassle; just buy the Pioneer Plasma's as they are clearly the best. People ask us why we don't stock LCD. Our answer is because we don't think they product a good enough picture YET! When they are; we will.
I want surround sound but I don't want all the speakers
No problem; it can be done. There is some compromise of course. You can't generate 5.1 Digital Surround without placing 5.1 speakers around the room. That doesn't mean that you can't use 5.1 discreet speakers that fit in the ceiling and are almost totally unnoticeable. But I don't want 5.1 speakers
Yamaha make a very clever device called a sound projector. This device (pictured above) contains a bunch of digital speakers which can be adjusted to fire sound all over the room. When set up properly it simulated surround sound surprisingly well. Fitted underneath your plasma it looks the part and sounds pretty incredible when you consider it is neither ridiculously expensive or room dominant. It is available in silver and black to match your plasma or LCD.
But my room isn't a perfect square or my TV is in the corner?
Don't panic. Some speaker systems are compact and clever enough to get around this problem. The Mission M-Cube package is ideal because the speakers are small and flexible and can be mounted just about anywhere.Don't forget that when we set your system up we allow for distance and location when setting and adjusting pressure levels. This means you can "balance" the system to suit awkward rooms or unusual seating positions.
Where higher performance is required; B&W and Kef, make speakers that are much easier to fit in "real" rooms, without spoiling them or causing divorce. They will also do a much better job when you use the system to listen to music.
How big a TV do I need to do the system justice?
It's up to you. Bigger isn't always better and you are far better choosing quality over size. Bear in mind that there are plasma TV's on the market that are worse than normal telly's. What's the point in that?Plasma TV's tend to be either 42 or 50" and if you want a bigger image than that you'll probably want to consider a projection system.
I'm just getting more confused
Don't. Give us a call and we'll visit you at home and advise you. We also like to install most of the systems we sell. The reason for this is simple; properly installed systems give you better results and don't work erratically. You won't get flustered when it doesn't do what you want it to do.
