The Boardwalk

Situated on Snig Hill, The Boardwalk hosts live music almost every night of the week. This small intimate venue holds about seven hundred people with a small stage and a bar that runs down one side. Excellent for smaller artists as well as some excellent tribute bands.

The Leadmill

Pretty much an institution now and having hosted some fantastic artists over the years. Pretty good bar, nice atmosphere and also regular themed DJ nights. Tends to attract a diverse audience from students up to those of slightly more mature years. Those young at heart you might say.

The Plug

This is a new venue but it has a lot to offer. Located on Matilda Street which is behind the Moor, PLUG has three themed rooms; live, neutral and earth. The venue has a capacity of 1200, similar to The Leadmill but has a younger vibe and hosts a diverse range of concerts and themed nights. Live has a big bar running down one side and is great for casual watching the band if you don't want to be down the front getting crushed. The stage is also pretty high making for a good view from the back.
